Microsoft® Outlook Express® Mail Tutorial
Please use the following step by step screen shot tutorial to set up your Outlook Express program to retrieve mail from your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail accounts (user@yourdomain.com). You may use Outlook Express to send and receive mail to and from your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail accounts. The tutorial below will help you set up your e-mail account profile to get you started, and you may consult either the following support link on the Microsoft site or the online help section in the Outloook Express menu of options for information on how to use Outlook Express to manage your e-mail accounts.

Configuring Outlook
1. Open Outlook Express from either the icon on your desktop or by clicking on Start-->Programs-->Outlook Express. The following screen should appear once you open Outlook Express.

2. Click on Tools-->Accounts...

 

 

 

3. Select the Mail heading on the Internet Accounts screen to generate the following view

4. Click on Add-->Mail

 

 

 

5. Under Display name, type in the friendly name (i.e. John Doe) that you would like to appear in the from field of your outgoing messages

6. Click Next

 

7. In the screen below leave the button, I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use, checked and enter the full address for your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail account
NOTE: In our example the e-mail address is the generic user@yourdomain.com, but be sure to use your own DreamWorx Hosting e-mail address when configuring your Outlook Express.

8. Click Next

 

 
 

 

9. In the E-mail Server Names screen below leave POP3 selected in the My incoming server is a POP3 server field
NOTE: Your e-mail accounts are of the POP3 variety.

10. In the Incoming mail ... Server field enter your assigned DreamWorx Hosting POP3 mail server which is mx.yourdomain.com which you replace yourdomain with the domain name you are hosting with us.

11. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field enter Enter your ISP's SMTP server to send emails. 

 

 

 

12. Click Next

13. In the Account name field place your DreamWorx hosted e-mail address. In our example the e-mail address is user@yourdomain.com.
** Type in your password in the Password field, check the Remember password field if you wish this feature to be enabled and click Next.

 

 

 

14. Click Finish to enter your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail address profile
The configuration process is now completed.

 

 

 

Reviewing Settings
1. The following screen will appear below. You may double check the settings for your profile by selecting the Account (in our example it is mail3.dreamworxhosting.net) so that it is highlighted in blue, and then click Properties. You may specify your Internet connection type in the Connection section of your account properties, or you may simply leave the default, Any Available setting selected. (Your account will be named by its incoming mail server and keep in mind that the profile below, mail3.DreamWorx.com, is simply an example. Your incoming DreamWorx Hosting mail server will be different.)

2. Click Close
Once you close the above window, the following main screen will appear.

 


 

 

The Inbox represents the folder to which your DreamWorx Hosting mail will be downloaded. To retrieve your e-mail from the incoming server, simply click on the Send/Recv button. This should download your DreamWorx Hosting e-mail and place it in your Inbox. You are now ready to send and receive e-mail using Outlook Express.

 

 

 

If, for any reason, you are unsuccessful retrieving e-mail when clicking on Send/Recv, please double check your settings as the problem most likely lies in using:

1. a misspelled username and password or

2. an incorrect incoming mail server
